TEAM, GOLD FOR LADIES AT MUNSTER JUNIOR CROSS COUNTRY.

The Munster Novice anf Junior cross country championships were held in Coolaclare Co.Clare last Sunday. The club had no senior Ladies team competing im afraid however on a positive note we had a junior Ladies team and they brought home the club bronze medals with some fine running by Grainne Moore who finished in 16th place with great back up from sister Eabha and Doireen Hickey who were 36 and 37 respectfully, very well done to these 3 Ladies. We lasohad three individual men in the Novice race who again need a 4th athlete to make a team none the less all three ran very well on the day with Damien Murphy having made the trip from his work base in Zurich to compete finishing an excellent 13th place, he was followed home by Gary Cantwell who again ran an excellent race to come home in 24thPlace with his team mate and running his very first Novice championships race Mark Blackwell in 26th.Well done to the three boys for making the long trip to compete for the club, it’s just a crying shame we couldn’t field a full team here for this Munster Novice as we could very well have been in the hunt for Munster Novice medals.
