The 123.ie Munster Schools Cross Country Championships will take place in Tramore Valley Park Cork on Tuesday February 27th. All the local schools will be represented at this event having qualified through the East Munster Championships. There will be lots of West Waterford interest in this event with many of our athletes representing St Augustine’s College. The Intermediate girls team made up of West Waterford’s Fia de Paor, Sarah O’Riordan and Lauren Cliffe and KCK’s Aoibhinn Ryan look very strong and should be in the shake up for the medals and All Ireland qualification.

Doireann and Eabha Hickey Compete at 123.ie National Senior Championships

It was great to see our current and former juivenile athletes in action at the 123.ie National senior championships. It was podium places for Kate and Lucy with Kate taking her 7th indoor walking title on the trot and Lucy winning her first senior medal when she finished 3rd in the 1500m. It was good experience and a new level of competiton for Doirerann and Eabha who competed in the racewalk event that had one of the biggest field ever at these championships.
