NEW SPONSOR ANNOUNCED FOR 32ND ANNUAL “CENTRA YOUGHAL ROAD” WINTER LEAGUE.

With the summer road-racing season now behind us and the evenings beginning to draw in, attention is turning towards one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the West Waterford AC calendar — the 32nd Annual “Centra Youghal Road” Winter League. Preparations are already well underway for this year’s event, with the club committee working behind the scenes to ensure another successful league following the excellent response to the club’s recent Waterford Greenway Half Marathon. One of the highlights ahead of this year’s event is the announcement of a new sponsor. For many years, the Winter League enjoyed the generous backing of Kevin Forde of Fordes Daybreak, whose support played a major part in the continued growth and success of the popular league. Earlier this year, Kevin stepped back from the business, which was taken over by Mr Haroon Nawab. The premises on the Youghal Road have since undergone a major transformation, becoming a brand-new Centra store. The club is delighted to announce that, through Kevin’s involvement; Haroon has agreed to continue the tradition of supporting the Winter League and will become the event’s new sponsor going forward.West Waterford AC would like to place on record its sincere appreciation to Kevin for his tremendous support over the years, as well as for helping to put this new sponsorship arrangement in place. The club also extends a warm welcome and its sincere thanks to Haroon for coming on board. His support is greatly appreciated, and everyone at West Waterford AC looks forward to building a strong partnership with him and the Centra Youghal Road team in the years ahead. With the 32nd Annual Winter League now on the horizon, preparations are gathering pace, and runners can once again look forward to the return of this much-loved fixture on the local athletics calendar.
