COLM RYAN MEMORIAL RUN RAISES 2.830 EURO.
A grand total of 2.830 euro was presented to the Irish Cancer Society last weekend the proceeds from the Colm Ryan memorial run in Touraneena and organised by the Touraneena runners and sponsored very kindly by Condon Dairy Services.A great turnout of 150 walkers and runners participated on the morning which was not ideal with a heavy drizzle present however this didn’t deter a good turnout for the event. It was a fitting idea by the Touraneena runners to have this event in honour of Colm who passed to his eternal reward in April of 2023 and was an integral part of the running community in the Ballymac and Touraneena area. Colm was fondly remembered by all who participated and many of his family members and loved ones were present on the morning also. The spirit of the whole Touraneena community was very evident throughout with their organisation of the event with a huge number of volunteers, stewards, and the volume of homemade refreshments provided to all in the centre after the race. Our thanks once again to all at the Touraneena Runners group and our own club West Waterford AC as the main movers of this event in Colms memory raising almost 3000 jointly on the day for Colm’s favourite charity the Irish Cancer Society. We also say a huge thank you to Condon Dairy Services who were good friends of Colm and very generously sponsored the race prizes on the day.
