ANOTHER BIG TURNOUT ON SHORT COURSE LEAGUE.
The numbers this year in the short course of the Fordes Daybreak Winter League are the best we have ever seen and this is wonderful as this league is really geared for people who might be trying a bit of running for the first time and this bears witness when you see the number of new faces running this league this year.As good a night as one could wish for at this time of year last Wednesday night saw yet another huge turnout last Wednesday when 279 took up the challenge with a good number of newcomers as well as those that ran the previous week. It was great to see so many new runners that were trying out the league for the very first time as well as many league regulars. This section of the league specifically has first timers and beginners in mind and is a manageable distance for most as it covers 2.3 miles in total. So make sure to check your start time on facebook and or on the sheets posted on the wall at the sports centre when you arrive down next week. The clocks start each eek at 6.40 pm sharp. First past the post last eek and running for the first time in the current league was the one and only Bo Bo Tutty in a time of 26:35 followed by Patrick Ryan in 27:07and next came the first of the Ladies with Donna Sheehan 27:56 with Una Ryan 29:18 next, Sheena Kelly had an excellent run clocking a time of 21:33 with Ciara Hannigan 25:50 hot on her heels in 6th place.
