PHILIP HARTY JUST HOLDS OFF BRIAN BYRNE ON 5 MILES HILL COURSE.

We had a great entry of 41 runners taking on the trail run in Colligan this week and first home just like the previous 2 weeks was Philip Harty, however this week he hadn’t as easy a victory as the previous two as Brian Byrne upped the ante this week and only a second separated the two at the finishing tape. Philip was clocked at 34.11 and Brian 34.12 the closest contest for the top spot ever witnessed at this league. The two were followed by the ever improving Kieran Russell 35.15 an excellent run by Kieran. Tara Ni Rheatagáin lead the Lady’s home last week and was nicely under the 40 minute barrier with a time of 39.54 with Michelle Horgan the 2nd Lady home in 43.05 Karen Ryan and Ann Dunford recorded the same time for joint 3rd in 44.56.Well done to all who took on this tough course – no doubt you will see the benefits of this tough running as the year goes on.
