IRISH LIFE HEALTH MASTERS TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

SUCCESSFUL DAY FOR WEST WATERFORD ATHLETES.

 

The Irish Life Health national masters was held Sunday at the Morton stadium Santry Dublin and once again it was great to see the championships held with the current restrictions in place for all sports presently.

With each master athletes confined to just one event this year the championships proceeded well on the day with all competitions completed on time.AI are to be congratulated on holding all the track and field championships this year after a great effort by all concerned.

West Waterford AC had four athletes competing and three brought home medals. Joe Gough in the over 65 category once again took gold but not running on this occasion, it was the long jump where Joe recorded a jump of 4.25. His name sake Terri Gough was in action over 70 in the 200 meters and Terri ran a time of 55.54 to take yet another gold medal for her collection and our third competitor Yev Chizhikov as delighted to capture bronze in the over 50 800 meters with a time of 2.21.96.Ray Hahesy competed over 60 in the 5.000 meters and acquitted himself well finishing 6th in a time of 9.15.50.Well done to all four on keeping the great West Waterford AC masters tradition going at national level.
