First Cross Country of the Season Sunday 14 th
The first cross country races of the season will be held on Sunday September 14 th
at Lakelands in Tramore. The venue is just behind Spashworld. There will be relays
for the younger age groups up to under 13 and an open cross country for those
aged under 13 upwards. This will be a good chance to stretch the legs and
compete ahead of the county championships.
West Waterford County Board Cross Country
Squad Training.
Day 1 of the county cross country squad training took place in Waterford on
Saturday last. There were two groups one for the under 11 upwards who are still
in Primary school and another for those in secondary school. We were delighted
to see West Waterford athletes participating in both groups. Another session will
be held in the coming weeks.

Cross Country
The West Waterford Run Primary Schools Cross Country will take place in St
Augustine’s College on Friday Sept 19th with a 5.45 start time. Registration will
open at 5.00. Please come early as parking is limited and we ask those in the
Abbeyside and Ballinroad areas to walk or cycle to the venue.
There will be races for 2 nd ,3 rd 4 th ,5 th , 6 th and First and Second years Secondary
Schools. The races will start at 5.45 sharp so please come early. Entry fee is 3euro
per athlete cash only.

2 nd Class 400m
3 rd Class 500m
4 th & 5 th class 600m
6 th Class 800m
1 st & 2 nd year 1000m
Fun Day in Ardmore on Sunday
About twenty of our younger athletes travelled to Ardmore last Sunday to take
part in their open event. All competed in running, jumping and throwing and
great fun was had by all.
