International Success for Isabelle Gaffney.
Budapest was the venue for this years International FISEC Games. This is a multi sport event that covers swimming, basketball, tabletennis and athletics. Isabelle Gaffney was part of the Irish Athletics team for this event. In hot and humid conditions she competed in the first round of the 800m winning her heat in 2.16.01 and clocking the fastest qualifying time. After a day’s rest it was time for the final.
From the start Isabelle was well up with the pace and with 200m to go she came with a blistering turn of speed to cross the line first and take the gold medal in 2.11 much to the delight of the members of the Irish team present.
What a great start to her international career.
