Cross Country Training Kicks Off on Friday Next 23rd August
The cross country season is fast approaching with the first race of the season the Tramore Open Cross Country being held on Sunday Sept 15th so it’s time to start back training. The first Munster Cross Country will be held on Oct 20th so the county championships will have to be held before that which means the last Sunday in September and the first Sunday in October. Cross country training starts on Friday August 23rd in the Friary @4.30pm and will continue on Wednesday and Fridays @4.30pm. We look forward to seeing all our athletes back in training and look forward to another successful cross country season. These are the dates I have so far so you can plan your calendars for the upcoming season. It will be busy once it starts
For those who are new to cross country athletes can compete in their own age group and the age above so under 9’s compete under 9 and under 10
under 10’s compete under 10 and under 11 etc
New Initiative This Year for Cross Country
In a effort to bring clubs together the County Board is going to run several county squad training days. The first one is in Carriganore on Sunday 1st of September @11am. All the clubs will train together with different groups for different ages. We would encourage all our athletes to attend these sessions. The second one will be held in Colligan on Saturday 14th Sept.
