Those Born in 2010 and 2011Return to Training this Week @6.15

We have been settling in to our new training regime over the last few week. First back were our older athletes born between 2002 and 2007 and they are now well into their stride with Tony’s group training Mon, Wed and Fri @6pm and Mary’s group training on Wed and Friday @6pm. Last Friday we welcomed back those born in 2008 and 2009 and they are now up to speed with the new system. This week on Wed and Friday we will welcome back those born in 2010 and 2011.  We ask that those born in 2010 and 2011 come to training at 6.15 to avoid any queues and allow for social distancing at check in. Many of them have already sent in their forms and have received the back to training email with instructions on how to sign up for training online they have also received their life registration numbers to access the online system. If you have sent in your form and have not received your email and registration number please contact Mary Ashe.

Remember you must be registered and insured with Athletics Ireland and checked in online before you attend training.

The first cross country of the season was hosted by St Senan’s AC in Kilmacow on Sunday last. Athletes from all over south Leinster and Munster travelled to compete at the event.  Four athletes from West Waterford made the journey to Kilmacow to take part. First in action was Kyla Flavin who won the girls under 12 race with four seconds to spare from Lucy Clinton Waterford Ac and Eve Dowling Newbridge a further eight seconds back in third place.

Aoife O’Donovan was next in action and Aoife moved up an age to compete under 14 girl’s 1500m . Aoife finished 18 in a time of 6.44 which was a good first race of the season for Aoife.

Next up was Sarah Nyhan who competed in the under girls under 18 3000m. Sarah finished in 4th place in a very competitive and fast paced race.

Mark Blackwell was the only boy from West Waterford competing last Sunday. He ran in the boys under 18 4000m. He finished in 24th place with

Well done to all four athletes who competed in Kilmacow we will see you in action again next Sunday in Waterford.
