RACE COMMENTS RECIEVED VIA E MAIL ON QUANTUM LIFE DUNGARVAN 10 2009
I am just home after competing in the dungarvan 10 mile road race. This is just a quick note to say thanks to the club who did a brilliant job of organising the event.The marshalling and support during the race was brilliant and there was no better sight than the tea and millions of sandwiches after…every bit of it was good.So thanks to everyone involved, it was great and look forward to it next year pg.

Just wanted to write a quick mail to congratulate all concerned on a great race. It was extremely well-organised- loads of helpful, friendly stewards, nice goody bags, lovely T-shirts, good hot showers and fantastic refreshments afterwards, especially considering the numbers. Well done – definitely a race I will run again.

Just a quick few lines to say very well done to all who helped with the organisation of yesterdays ten mile road race. It was my first time running in Dungarvan and the facilities,( number of volunteers, tea/coffee, sandwiches, water stations etc etc and last but not least the very welcome hot shower after the race) were second to none. Conditions were cold and windy but after a few miles out you would forget about the weather.Once again well done. Looking forward to next year.

Just a quick note to say thank you very much for a great day out yesterday.
This is my three year doing the 10 miler and I have to say it is one of my favorite races of the year. The stewarts are great, also too is the parking, showers and the tea and food after.
I like the new course too. I will be down there again in 2010.

Just want to say thanks a million for putting on such a great event yesterday. Organisation (parking, registration, finish, food!) was superb and overall it was a very enjoyable event despite the cold wind!
It was my first time doing the event and it was a lovely course. I am baffled as to how it felt like we were running downhill almost all the time! Thanks a million and congratulations again on organising such an excellent event.

I must say your organizational abilities shone through, from the entrance roads being signposted for the HQ, stewards directing etc. it made it so easy to get to HQ and one instantly had the feeling that this was a well thought out event.The hall was well laid out and the very competent young ladies handing out the goody-bags made me smile.Their no-nonsense approach was a breath of fresh air.Throughout the run the roads were extremely well marshaled and directions made very clear. The quite country roads without traffic fantastic. Guards on bikes & on foot at the critical junctions. Water stations well spaced and on good straight stretches. Mile markers so clear and time keepers to boot. Fantastic food and excellent warm showers.You had everything covered, except the wind, is there any way you could sort that out for next year

i ran Dungarvan 4 mins faster than my Mallow time! Thought the organisation yesterday was fantastic, stewards by the dozen at every point! don’t know if three water stations were even necessary, but were welcome anyway! I thought the set up at the finish line was excellent, enough space for people to spectate and not be in the way of runners. My only gripe was the fairly long hike back to the hall in that bitter wind! Many thanks to West Waterford AC. Mallow was my first 10 mile race, Dungarvan my second and both have been very positive experiences.

I totally agree this race was a great success and it was wonderful to see so many runners attend it. West Waterford Ac put so much time and effort into making this a better race and full marks to them it sure was,they can go home this evening with a very big smile on their face’s and feel proud because this race is going to become huge in the next few years because the course,facilities and organisation of the whole event was fantastic.Thanks to all the stewards,organiser’s,and everyone else that helped for a wonderful race.

I really enjoyed the race. It was my very first race and big congrats to how West Waterford AC ran the day very efficient will be back to compete in it again.
