DECEMBER 2008 
In Ballyhaise Co Cavan at the All Ireland Novice Cross Country Championships, West Waterford finished 4th Club with Raivis Zakis, James Ledingham, Sean Stilwell and Harry O Brien.  They were just 3 points off 3rd spot but there was some consolation for Raivis, James and Sean as they featured on the county team which took gold on the day.
The Allrounder Winter League was well under way with over €1300 raised on the Christmas Charity night for the South East Radiotherapy Trust.
A new race the idea of club President Paddy Joe Curran was held at Pulla Ring over a 5 mile route.  West Waterford took the top 3 men’s prizes with Raivis, Sean Stilwell and Kevin Kenneally while Corinna Walsh was first lady home
The organisation of the Quantum Life Dungarvan 10 Mile Road Race was well under way with entries being taken by post and for the first time on line with “Active Europe”, volunteers being recruited and chip timing also being introduced for the first time.
At the u.23 European Cross Country Championships in Brussels David Mc Carthy (W.W.A.C.) finished first Irishman in 24th place with his sister Lorraine (Ferrybank A.C.) in 33rd position.
On St Stephens Day at the Dungarvan Club grounds €2,800 was raised at a 5 mile charity run for the Chernobly Childrens Trust with a record entry of 222 runners.
Also on St Stephens Day in Clonmel Sandis Bralitis recorded a p.b. for a 4 mile race and had a convincing win in 18.54.
January 2009
At the Munster Junior Indoor Championships Kate Veale took 2 gold medals in the 3,000 metre run and the 3k walk in a new record time.  Joe Conway took silver in the boy’s 5k walk.
Sandis Bralitis was 3rd in the Mallow 10 Mile race of 587 runners in 52.53 with Raivis Zakis 4th in 54.04
At the All Ireland Masters Track and Field in Nenagh Harry O Brien took gold in the 1,500.  Terry Gough took gold in the 60m and 1,500m and silver in 200,400 and 800.
At the Munster Junior and Senior Cross Country Championships held at St Augustines Kate Veale won the Junior Ladies title and led her team of Elma Nugent, Edel Roche and Rebecca Maher to team victory and were also on the winning county team.
Declan Power finished 5th in the junior men’s and together with Brian Hallissey, Joe Conway, David Earley and Sean Ryan they took team gold.
Corinna Walsh took a marvelous 2nd and silver medal in the Senior Ladies finishing behind Niamh O Sullivan on this occasion.  In the Senior Mens Padraig Healy was an impressive 12th and along with Sean Stilwel was a member of the Waterford Senior County team who took silver medals
Brigid Coffey was finally confirmed as the Comeragh Crystal Athlete of the Year for 2008 with a record 131 points.  Paul Brunnock took the Male Master Athlete award while Ann Dunford took the Female Master award.
At the Kiely Monumental Cup Ger Wyley emerged victorious from 125 competitors.
David Mc Carthy took an excellent 3rd place at a 3,000 m Boston Invitational race on the indoor track in 8 min 02 sec’s.

FEBRUARY 2009
Feb 1st 2009 was a red-letter day for West Waterford Athletic Club as a total of 1009 athletes registered for the Quantum Life Dungarvan 10 Mile Road Race, which was also race, no 2 in the Michael Roche Carpets Spring Series.  Everything went like clockwork and in the race itself Sandis Bralitis took the honours in a time of 51.36.  47 athletes broke the hour mark and West Waterford A.C. Men took 2nd team prize with Sean Stilwell, Padraig Healy and Michael Dunford.  The course record fell in the Ladies race to Limerick athlete Rose Mary Ryan who finished in 19th position overall in a time of 57.27 which was 1 min and 15 seconds faster than the old record held by Lucy Brennan.  Tara Roche took the Junior Ladies prize and Declan Power the Junior Mens award.  West Waterford ladies, Corinna Walsh, Sinead Crotty and Norma Wall took the team prize while Joe Gough was 1st o/55, Martin Mc Carthy 2nd o/45 and Terry Gough 3rd o/60.
Kate Veale took the Pat Noctor Supreme Sports Star Award for 2008, which also saw Zoe Scanlon, and Thomas Houlihan nominated.
At the Munster awards night held in Blarney, West Waterford claimed 4 awards: Junior Men’s Cross Country, Senior Women’s Road Championships, Master T&F and 0/35 Ladies Road Champions while Kate Veale won the walking award.
At the Allrounder Winter League Sean Stilwell set a new course record for the short course of 12.37.  In total he broke the record 3 times running 12.37, 12.32 and then 12.25.
At the Munster Masters Indoors 4 athletes competed with Terry Gough winning 4 golds in 200m, 800m, 1,500m and 3000m.  Harry O Brien also took gold in the 800, 1,500 and 3,000 o/45.  Yevgenniy Chizhikov took bronze in the 0/40 800.
At the Irish Senior Indoors T&F held at Belfast’s Oddyssey Arena James Ledingham finished 5th in the 800m final.  Liam and Thomas Houlihan competed in the Pole Vault and both cleared 4 metres to take joint 9th.
David Mc Carthy competing for his College: Providence at the Boston Indoor games recorded 4.01.74 for the mile event but on Valentine’s Day he went on to do something no Waterford man had ever done before when he broke the magic 4 minute barrier for the mile again at Boston when he recorded 3.57.75.
Raivis Zakis and Corinna Walsh took the top 2 positions in the Anne Valley 5 mile race held in Dunhill.
At the All Ireland Junior Pole Vault Thomas Houlihan took gold and recorded a p.b. or 4.20 while his sister Lisa recorded 2.40 and took a bronze medal.
Yevgenniy Chizhikov was the Athlete of the Month for February with 7 points.
 MARCH 2009
The 27th Annual Eason’s Dungarvan 10k was held on Sunday March 1st where Raivis Zakis retained his title and claimed the Seamus Power Trophy in a time of 32.29 while Angela Mc Cann took the ladies race in 37.54 with 166 taking part.  Corinna Walsh was first local lady home and took the Mikey Roche Trophy with the Dunabbey Trophy going to Gerry Cantwell.  
Gary Mc Cormack claimed the Spring Series Title with the Ladies title going to Corinna Walsh.
James Ledingham and Rory Moloney were part of a U.L. team who claimed bronze at the All Ireland Universities Cross Country Championships while Kate Veale took an individual bronze in the Intermediate girls event and was picked on the Irish Schools team for an International event in Wales.
At the Ballycotton 10 Raivis Zakis retained the Paddy Joe Delaney Memorial Shield for the first club member home when he finished 12th overall.
David Mc Carthy qualified for the NCAA 1 Mile Indoor Finals where he finished an excellent 4th.
At the Munster Road Racing Championships in Rathkeale Co Limerick Philip Harty finished 11th and took a county bronze medal as did Johnny O Connor and P.J. Guinan.  West Waterford were 4th club and Corinna Walsh finished 4th in the ladies race.
120 runners turned out in Colligan for the first round of the Mason Mortgages and Financial Services 5 mile Hill and Flat league.
At the Munster Masters Road Championships in Beauford Co Kerry, P.J. Guinan and Johnny O Connor were once again on the county team which claimed bronze medals.  Joe Gough and Gerry Cantwell were on the o/50 county team who took gold while Joe took an individual silver in 0/55 and Corinna Walsh took 2nd overall and individual gold in 0/35 age group.
At a European Athletics Meeting held in Slovakia Jamie Costin too part in the 50k Walk hoping to reach the A qualification standard for the Berlin World Championships.  Jamie not only reached the qualifying standard he broke the Irish record for the 50k Walk setting a new record of 3.50.52 taking 3rd place overall in the race.  A new member of West Waterford Athletic Club Zusana Malikova, girlfriend of Jamie also qualified for Berlin in the 20k distance.
Dermot Dwyer represented the club at the grueling Connemara Marathon while Angeline Drennan, Ann Moroney, Claire and Martina Walsh and Terri and James Gough all took part in the half marathon at the same venue.
APRIL 2009
Raivis Zakis and Sandis Bralitis represented the club at the Paris Marathon finishing in 40th and 41st positions overall in 2.24.36 and 2.24.39.
The very successful Mason Mortgages and Financial Services Colligan Spring League came to a conclusion with overall wins for Ann Quinn, Corinna Walsh, Triona Wall, Sean Stilwell and Kenley Street.
David Mc Carthy was announced as the Park Hotel Sports Star of the month for February in recognition for becoming the first Waterford man to break the 4 minute mile.  David was also rewarded at his College in Providence by winning the overall Sports Person of the Year.
The Ger Wyley Sports/Nike sponsored Summer Series for 2009 got underway with the 17th annual Marine Climb 6 mile road race, which saw the first of many course records over the summer.  Siobhain Doherty (Borrisokane) and the second place finisher Pauline Lambe were both inside the old record.  Sandis Bralitis took the mens race in 31.59 and later in the month took victory at the John Joe Barry 5k in Tipperary in 15.27.
Raivis Zakis finished 3rd overall at the final race in the John Buckley Munster 10 Mile Classic Series.  This race was held in Kilnaboy Co Clare with 18 West Waterford athletes participating and Raivis finished first overall in the series for the 3rd year in a row.
At the second race of the Summer Series in Butlerstown a record number of 313 took part in the 10k event.  Sandis was once again victorious in 31.49 and here Pauline Lambe from Tullamore broke the course record to take victory in 36.10 finishing 7th overall in the race.  €2,346 was donated to Waterford Alzheimer’s Society.
The Minnies Summer Running League got under way at the Friary College while at the London Marathon Ann Moroney, Andrew Leary, James and Terry Gough represented the club.
Sean Stilwell and Philip Harty finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Tramore 10k while Sean also took victory in the Rockwell 10k event with 400 entrants.

MAY 2009
The Minnies Fit4Life League commenced and proved to be one of the best ever numbers wise.
David Mc Carthy set a new p.b. in Villanova at The Big East Championships in the 1,500 m of 3.42.34.
At the Munster senior, junior and under 23 T&F Championships in Cork I.T. gold medals in the senior grade went to Liam Houlihan (Pole Vault), Frank O Brien (Discus) and James Ledingham (800m).
In the under 23 grade Sean Stilwell won gold in the Steeplechase, Rory Moloney gold in the 5,000m Racewalk and silver in the 3,000m.  Mark Bannon took gold in the PoleVault and Eadaoin Ashe gold in the Discus.
In the Junior Ladies Kate Veale took over a minute off the 3,000 m record in the Race Walk walking 14.14.  Zoe Scanlon took silver in the discus with a new p.b and bronze in the javelin while Lisa Houlihan took silver in the pole vault and bronze in the triple jump.
In the Junior men Thomas Houlihan had the best vault of the day of 4m.20 taking gold with Joe Conway taking gold in the 5k walk.  Dale Kennedy won a bronze medal in both the Discus and Shot while Brandon Barry took gold in the Triple Jump.
At the Waterford to Tramore 7.5 Mile Road Race a record entry of 354 runners took part with Sandis Bralitis winning in 38.45 with West Waterford taking the team prize.  Pauline Lambe smashed the ladies course record winning in 44.08.  
At the club Sports Evening held at the Friary Sean Stilwell was 2nd Senior Man Yev took the Master Mens title while David Earley and Diana Chizhikova took the junior and ladies titles respectively.  
At the C.I.T. at the Cork County Championships Thomas Houlihan taking part as a guest vaulted 4.50 to qualify for the European Youth Olympics to be held in Finland in July.
The Inaugural John Treacy 10 Mile Road Race was held in Villiarstown and the West Waterford club helped to organize a successful race and many local athletes taking prizes in their age categories and saw Philip Harty take 6th overall and Corinna Walsh take 5th lady.
David Mc Carthy was awarded the Crowne Plaza Hotel Athlete of the Month for April from Athletics Ireland recognizing Athletes performances.  David took the award for his outstanding races in April.
Raivis Zakis finished 3rd in the Latvian National Marathon in Riga and was the first Latvian home in 2.28.
JUNE 2009
Sandis Bralitis and Corinna Walsh took the honours in the Touraneena 5k race no 4 in the Ger Wyley Sports/Nike Summer Series.
David Mc Carthy became the fastest Irishman under 23 when he ran a p.b. of 3.41.37 for the 1,500m in Carolina at the East Regional Championships to take victory 
At the Cork Marathon West Waterford Relay team of Michael Dunford, Philip Harty, Alan Hickey, Shane Power and Brian Byrne took 3rd place overall. 
At the European Masters Cross Country Championships in Denmark in team events Joe Gough was part of a winning team which took gold over the 4k distance and the next day Joe ran a half marathon relay and the team finished in second place taking silver medals.
At a graded T&F meet in Dublin James Ledingham set a new p.b. for 800m running 1.52.60 to take victory.
27 runners took part in the Cruachán Hill Run organized by Timmy Foley.
A record entry of 206 runners took part in the Clashmmore 5 Mile Road Race with victory going to John Cleary of Ferrybank and Philip Harty second in 26.43 with Rory Moloney 3rd in 27.12.  Pauline Lambe claimed another course record of 30.07 while Corinna Walsh was second and Norma Wall third.
At the National T&F leagues held in C.I.T West Waterford competed in the Premier Division and fielded athletes in 10 of the 15 events on offer finishing with 69 points.
At a Grand Prix event in Watford James Ledingham finished 2nd in 1.53.06.
At the N.C.A.A. Championships in America David Mc Carthy qualified for the final of the 1,500m as a fastest looser and finished 12th in the final.
At the 17th annual Cunnigar Rás Na Rinne 6 Mile, victory went to Raivis Zakis in 29.37 while 167 runners took part.  Sean Stilwell was second overall while Pauline Lambe equaled the course record of 35.14 with Corinna Walsh second in 37.08.
A week later at the 17th annual Dromana 5 Mile Raivis Zakis took victory for the first time in this race in 24.58 with 183 runners taking part.  Rory Moloney was 2nd in 26.50 and Corinna Walsh took the ladies race in 30.54.
Entries for the Ger Wyley Sports/Nike Summer Series closed with 156 entries.  25-euro vouchers were on offer for athletes completing 6 races while 75-euro vouchers went to those who managed to run all 10.  The club Championship was also included in the summer series with finishing positions added to find winners in all categories.
The Minnies Fit4Life Summer League at the Friary concluded and the Amber Petroleum predict your time league commenced.
At the All Ireland Junior and U/23 Championships in Tullamore Sean Stilwell took silver in the steeplechase.  Rory Moloney bronze in 5,000m, Eadaoin Ashe silver in the u/23 discus and Zoe Scanlon silver in the junior discus.
JULY 2009
July saw the start of the 8 week Amber Garage sponsored Amber Petroleum Guess your time league commence again in the Friary while a 4 week 1 mile league aimed at beginners also took place on the Friary track.
David Mc Carthy was named on the Irish Under 23 squad for the European Championships in Lithuania in the 5000m event and later in the month went on to take Irelands only medal of the Championships and was only just pipped for the silver medal.  David’s time for the 5000 was 14.00.78.
At the 58th Cork City sports at the Mardyke James Ledingham finished 2nd in the men’s 800m race in 1.55.07 while Jamie Costin placed 4th in the shorter distance of 20k.
At the National T&F Championships Leagues West Waterford had 11 athletes competing and were delighted to take 82 points finishing 4th on the day and 12th out of 16 in the final results securing Premier status for 2010.
The 10th G.S.K. 5 mile road race no 8 in the Ger Wyley/Nike summer series took place and a had a record entry of 307 with many walkers also taking part.  The R.N.L I received the €4,500 sponsorship while victory went to Sandis Bralitis in 24.59 with Raivis 2nd and Philip Harty 3rd.  The ladies race went to Angela Mc Cann, Clonmel while West Waterford’s Corinna Walsh was second.  
At a Grand Prix meet in France Jamie Costin set a new p.b. for the 5,000m walk when he recorded 19.38.07 as a warm up race to the Berlin World Championships.
At the Munster Masters T&F Championships in Castleisland West Waterford had a great outing taking numerous medals of all colours and retaining the best master T&F club title for Munster for 2009.
The 9th race in the Summer Series took place in Ballymacarbry with the holding of their 5 Mile Road Race.  Victory here went to Tommy Evans of Gowran A.C. in 25.43 and Rory Moloney W.W. finished 3rd in 27.08.  The ladies race went to Pauline Lambe in 30.38 while Corinna Walsh finished second.
3 Athletes, James Ledingham, Mark Bannon and Lisa Houlihan competed in the All Ireland Senior T&F Championships in Santry with James and Mark both finishing 7th in the 800m and Pole Vault respectively while Lisa Houlihan came home with a bronze medal in the Polevault with a vault of 3m 60.
 AUGUST 2009
Raivis Zakis collected 2 bronze medals at the Latvian National T&F Championships when he competed in the 3k and 5k events.
At the 10th and final race in the Summer Series the Ardmore 5 Miler the 2 course records fell and a record entry of 238 runners participated completing an excellent Summer Series.  Sandis Bralitis was declared the overall series winner after recording a record breaking run of 24.35 on the night and Rory Moloney again taking 3rd.  Madeline Loughnane of Thurles Crokes was back to defend her title for the Ardmore 5 which she won in 2008 and did not disappoint taking the race again in a record time of 29.06.  The overall ladies summer series title went to Pauline Lambe of Tullamore who finished 2nd on the night.
At the All Ireland T&F Championships West Waterford had 6 ahtletes competing and all excelled with Terri Gough coming home with 4 gold medals in 100, 200, 400 and Javelin.  Joe Gough took gold in 400 and 800 while Corinna Walsh did likewise in the 800 and 3000m.  Sandra Brazil White finished second in the 200 with Michael Tutty and Harry O Brien both unlucky to finish 4th in their events, they were delighted to finish with p.b’s on the day.  
At an extremely humid and exhausting Berlin World Championships Jamie Costin unfortunately had to withdraw from the grueling 50k walk due to stomach problems when in 18th position.  There was some consolation for Jamie when he was elected chair of an athlete’s commission, a consultative body organized by the Olympic Council of Ireland as a body representing athlete’s views.  Jamie said he was delighted to be elected to the post and believed that the commission had an important contribution to make on planning for the London Olympics of 2012. 
We had joint winners of the Amber Petroleum League with Eamonn Flavin and Michael Mc Carthy finishing on 141 points.  
SEPTEMBER 2009
At the National Half Marathon in Ballybofey Co Donegal, Raivis Zakis finished 6th overall with Gerry Cantwell 3rd over 50 and Terri Gough 1st o/60.
The Elite Adventure and Development 1 Lap Challenge and the Garvey’s Autumn League got underway at the Friary College and continued for 5 weeks.
At the St Finbarr’s organized Blarney half Marathon incorporating the Munster Half Marathon Sandis Bralitis won the race in 70.40 with Terri Gough finishing 2nd over 60.  The masters team of Michael Dwyer, Des Feeney and Martin Mullarkey finished in the silver medal position.  Michael took an individual silver also in the o/40 category.
15 athletes from the club competed in the Berlin Marathon and on the same day 10 athletes were competing in the Great North Run in Newcastle.
At the annual Cross Country meet at St Senan’s in Kilmacow Corinna Walsh took the ladies title with Rory Moloney finishing 2nd in the mens event.  West Waterford took the team prize with Rory, Philip Harty, Sean Stilwell and Padraig Healy.  Ciaran Lane was 2nd Junior with Declan Power in 3rd.
OCTOBER 2009
At the County Novice Cross Country event held at the Friary College Kevin Kenneally took the men’s title for 2009 with a great run.  West Waterford mens teams finished in 2nd and 3rd place with Kevin Alan Hickey Des Feeney and Shane Power taking silver medals while Ciaran Lane John Leahy Thomas Mahoney Conor Murray and Richie Power took bronze.
At the Cork to Cobh 15 Mile Road Race Sandis Bralitis finished 2nd in 76.58.  Raivis Zakis was 5th with Gerry Cantwell and Terri Gough taking prizes in their age categories.  The Senior Mens team of Sandis Bralitis, Raivis Zakis and Dzintars Klava took 1st place overall.
At the Michael Tutty sponsored M.T. Motors Cross Country event held at the Friary College incorporating the County Senior Cross Country Championships Sandis Bralitis recorded his 5th straight win and West Waterford retained the Ryan Brothers Shield.  Raivis Zakis was 3rd with Rory Moloney 5th.  Joe Gough won the 0/55 and West Waterford took the team prize with Rory Moloney, Padraig Healy and Philip Harty making up the team.  
Corinna Walsh took the ladies title from Diane Behan (Waterford A.C.).  Ann Whelan and Josie Ui Chuirrin took victory in their respective age groups while Rebecca Maher was first junior.  
Sandis Bralitis also captained the Ballinroad/Ballinacourty team to first place in the Dwyer family sponsored local team event.  The other members of the team were Raivis Zakis, Rory Moloney and Kevin Kenneally.
The County Senior titles went to Sandis and Corinna with Raivis taking silver in the mens with Rory Moloney in bronze position.  Along with Kevin Kenneally these 4 athletes took gold in the County event with silver going to Padraig Healy, Philip Harty, Alan Hickey and Sean Stilwell.  Waterford A.C. took gold for their ladies team with West Waterford second with the team of Corinna Walsh, Ann Whelan, Brigid Coffey, Josie Ui Chuirrin and Rebecca Maher.
At the Munster Novice and u/23 event held once again at the Friary College Rory Moloney had an impressive run taking gold in the u/23 event and bronze in the novice.  West Waterford men took silver in the novice with the team of Rory Moloney, Kevin Kenneally, Padraig Healy and Declan Power.  Gold medals in the u/23 club section went to Rory Moloney, Padraig Healy and Ciaran Lane.  Rory, Kevin and Padraig were also on the county team who took silver here.
In the Ladies Novice West Waterford took team bronze medals with Elma Nugent, Ann Dunford, Brigid Coffey, Ann Whelan and Geraldine Heffernan running on the day.
At the Dublin Marathon Raivis Zakis took the Paddy Joe Delaney Shield for the first club member home.  In all 55 members took part in 2009 making it the biggest ever representation from the club.
The Registration night for the Winter League took place just 2 days later and just under 200 athletes registered for the 2.7 and 5.7 mile courses on offer.
NOVEMBER 2009
Brian Byrne was the club’s sole representative at the famous New York Marathon.
278 runners took part in the first night of the Winter League and over 350 registered with the numbers rising to 318 in week 2: 154 in the 2.7 and 164 in the 5.7.  
Rory Moloney represented the club at the Munster Intermediate Cross Country Championships in Tralee and had an excellent 5th place finish.
The 16th Annual Mc Grath Newsagents sponsored Brickey Run took place with testing conditions over the canal bank.  The run was preceded by a minute’s silence for Teresa Ryan mother of our club Chairperson Tony who passed away that morning.  29 runners took part in the 3 mile race and 79 in the 5.  Sandis Bralitis and Angela Mc Cann made it two in a row each as they claimed the mens and ladies titles in the 5 mile race.  Neither however managed to break the course record which would have seen them take a €200 bonus.  Sandis recorded a time of 27.06 and took the Martin Curran Memorial Cup ahead of Raivis Zakis.  Angela Mc Cann (Clonmel A.C.) finished in a time of 32.34 and took the Jim Lyons Memorial Shield.  Corinna Walsh and Gary Cantwell (K.C.K.) took the 3-mile titles.  Later that day Corinna went on to win the County Novice title at the Friary College to add to her titles for 2009.
David Mc Carthy despite fighting a viral infection finished 4th in the Regional Cross Country Championships held in Boston and in doing so helped his Providence College to take team bronze from the 36 competing colleges.
The launch of the 2010 Quantum Life Dungarvan 10 Mile Road Race took place at the Sports Centre Quanns and details of the race were announced.  Our sponsor Mel Shanley of Quantum Life was present, Anne Marie Rossiter represented the Mayor and Tom Keith of the Sports Centre the Town Council was also present.  All spoke of their delight at their involvement in the race.  The date for the race will be January 31st and 2010 will see a new initiative whereby the race will be pre-entry only, this will hopefully enable a smoother organization of the race.  A prize fund of €3000 will be on offer and we look forward to another successful day.
At the All Ireland Junior, Senior and U/23 All Ireland Cross Country in Kilbeggan Elma Nugent finished in an excellent 19th position and along with athletes from Ferrybank A.C. took bronze inter county medals.
At the Munster Masters Cross Country Championships hosted by the Ballynonty Club at Moyglass Corinna Walsh claimed the 0/35 title for 2009 with a great run finishing just behind International athlete Niamh O Sullivan.  Corinna also led her county to gold in the inter county event.  Our ladies team finished out of the medals in 4th but there was consolation for Bernie Prendergast as she took a bronze in the 0/50 competition.  At the same event Harry O Brien led our mens team home and along with Trevor Mason and Waterford A.C. athletes took a bronze medal in the Inter county competition.
The teams were announced for the upcoming European Senior, Junior and U/23 Cross Country Championships to be held in Dublin Santry Park.  The disappointing aspect from West Waterford’s perspective is that our own club member David Mc Carthy was not considered for the u/23 squad due to recent illness and also a slight calf strain.  After consultation with his coach Ray Treacy it was decided that David would not participate.  Hopefully David will take some part in these Championships in the future.
This concluded the clubs activities for the year to date.
