Another National Title and Record for Kate Veale
It’s a long trip to Magherafelt Co Derry, which was the venue for the second session of the National Indoor Championships. The trip for Kate Veale was a highly rewarding one as she came home with another national title. Kate won the girls under 16 walk and also broke the record when winning in a time of 6m 46secs. This augurs well for the outdoor season, which will be starting in a few weeks time.

Training Continues over Easter Holidays
We will continue training over the Easter school holidays on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6pm at the Friary. On Easter Monday there will be an open sports at Kilmacow. There will not be a bus to this event so it’s up to each athlete who wants to go to travel under their own steam.  On Sunday April 19th we will run a bus to Leevale Open Sports leaving Centra in Abbeyside at 9.15am. We look forward to a large turnout of athletes at this event.

Credit Union Finals a Great Success
Our four finalists Elma Nugent, Thomas Houlihan, Kate Veale and Sinead Flynn, their families and club officials had a most enjoyable night at finals of the combined Credit Unions awards on Friday last. Sonia O’ Sullivan who was home in Cobh on holidays from Australia was the guest of honour. She directed all her attention on the night to the young athletes and spoke about her strong competitive streak and the importance of getting that training run in every day so we hope they will take all that advise on board.
