Rain Fails to Dampen our Spirits
Training started in earnest last week.  On a wet and miserable Wednesday evening over twenty hardy soles and of course their coaches turned up for training. For some of our younger athletes the many puddles provided an added bonus and it was a question of who could find the most puddles to run through.  I think the Power brothers Michael and Jerome won that contest.  By Friday both the weather and the underfoot conditions had improved considerably and we had over forty athletes in training.  This early season training is very important, as the cross-country season is about to kick into action. We would like to see even more athletes back this week.

Another Big Win for Kate Veale
While we were all complaining about the weather here Kate Veale was lucky enough to be heading to the south of Spain. Kate travelled with senior internationals Olive Loughnane and Robbie Heffernan to compete in an international walking festival close to the city of Granada. Once again Kate put in a stellar performance to win the cadette girls 3000m in a time of 14mins 17secs.  Well-done Kate.
