McGRATH COLLIGAN CUP
The annual juvenile Colligan Cup was held on Sunday last.  This year we were delighted to welcome back our sponsor Albert Mc Grath. The Mc Grath family has a long-standing involvement with West Waterford athletic club both at senior and juvenile level. Seventy-three athletes took part in the race and the estimated times varied from 7m 30secs to 15mins. The clock started at 15mins and each athlete started at his or her own time. The first person home was Diarmuid Curran who finished 1m 13 secs ahead of his predicted time of 11m30. Thirty-three athletes completed the course ahead of their predicted time. When the clock struck zero next home was our winner Sean Patmore who ran exactly 1second over the time he had predicted he would. Just one second laterAaron Whelan finished with Alex Lai a further two seconds behind. Aidan O’ Brien took the fourth prize five seconds outside his time and the final prizewinner was Emma Hallihan 11 secs outside her time.
