Great race, lovely course and great to get time called at every mile, wonderful food afterwards.... nothing at all to complain about, not even the weather!

fantastic race, def going back. know a few of ye are in marathon training, same as myself. new 10 mile pb, 60:20.so sub 3 is on.
when should be the first day back into the training. should today be a recovery run?took yesterday off. half following daniels training plan, he suggests 3 days easy.dont want to lose to much milage.

Just to add my two cent worth,a great day out and a great atmosphere around the start and finish.I had reason to head back into Dungarvan at about 7 o'clock last (Sun) night to get some carbohydrates to replace the calories burnt up earlier in the day and there was still people collecting traffic cones and race signs,it really must be a big undertaking to run an event like this but I'm sure the positive response from the vast majority of people must really make it worth while for the club.It really gives a newbie to running like me an appetite for more events like this.Well done WWAC.

The times seem to have been great too, with a fast course. Does anyone know if the course length was formally certified as accurate? (Qualified measurer, use of Jones counter etc?) If so, it seems to be the place to go for a PB.

The Dungarvan 10 is certainly setting the standards for others. Good race HQ with parking, changing and enough post race nosh to feed an army. The course was well signposted and stewarded and three water stations with bottled water.
There was also a good range of prizes.
Decent standard in the mens and womens and a course that could eventually become the fastest in the Country.
Well done WWAC.

Just echoing the comments of many so far. Fantastic race, fantastic setup all round. Also a new PB for myself in just over 78 minutes. Had to leave the 80 minute pacers and they seemed to be going a bit to slow for me at the beginning...I half expected them to go flying past me so that I could try to hang on for dear life but I never saw them again...Fair play though they were in right on target!

Fabulous race again in Dungarvan. Well done to all who helped organise it and run it on the day. Small bottles of water are a real plus on a run of 10 mile+. Tech top was great as well at the end. PB on top of all of that

Cracking race. Was treating itmore as a training run that an all out effort but definitely a course you could take a lump off your PB. Might target it a bit more next year. Didn't get to enjoy the food afterwards as I had to get back on the road fairly sharpish.

Only slight down side was havign to wait until the end of the chute to get your water as mentioned previously. Apart from that absolutely faultless. Will be back next year for sure.

Impeccable race day I have to say, ok the showers were a bit mad afterwards but that couldn't be helped, was very good of the rain to ease off as well. Some value for €15!

Cracking race, dreadful weather. I've run cross country and didn't get as much dirt on me. The oil slick at mile 4 was a curse.

68.27 for me (68.39 on results but i clocked from the start line). Nearly an official pb but i never tried for it so quite happy. V well done by all in WWAC. Never saw as much food after a race and warm water in the showers still when i got there. Savage job for 15 euro. I think my white vest will never be white again though

Also, huge credit must go to West Waterford AC for organising a fantastic race. Loads of stewards, great goody bag (excellent Nike dri-fit top) and an unbelievable spread of grub in the hall afterwards, and all for E15

+1 great experience. PB for me too
Best organized race I have ever been at. The only negative comment is that they could have given water bottles at the start of the chute as when asking for everyone's for the chip back. Everything else was perfect. parking, food, stewards, enough toliets, times at every mile and 10k, fast results, etc. Everything else perfect.

I agree, everything was perfect. On the water, stroke of genius using little bottles. Cups are the work of the devil

And to all those other races that charge a lot more money to enter well let Dungarvan be the perfect argument for locally organised races with the community and club at heart and not a money making machine.

Yeah really top class race again. Very well organised, loads of stewards and a really great finishers t-shirt. In fact its between it and last years Lakes 10k one as my favourite race t-shirt.

Best organised 10 miler in the country, no contest. Well ok, the fact that it is hands down the quickest 10 miler in the country and is a certain PB for the distance helps, BUUTTTTTT....... all the other ingredients (reg, goodie bag, tech t-shirt, small water bottles, WWAC enthusiasm, very hard to beat. Roll on Ballycotton so I can be put back i my box as regards 10mile times!

This has to be one of the best organised road races in Ireland, from start to finish it was well done.

Clear signs directing people to start and race HQ.
Plenty of toilets available.
Race started bang on time (as far as I could tell, it was certainly damn close)
Every mile marked and people calling out times at the mile markers, clock at 5 miles. I saw a guy just after the 6 mile mark calling out times, took me a minute to figure he was calling the 10k time.
3, yes 3, water stops in a 10 mile race and water in bottles not cups.
Marshals at every junction.
Well organised finish and collection of goodie bags. Lovely T-shirt.
The changing rooms were jamed but even after 100's of people the water in the showers was still hot
Tonnes of food at drink afterwards.

Just to be clear, I have no connection to WWAC, I'm just an plodder who appreciates value for money and a job well done.

Only negative, and it has nothing to do with the organisers, was the amount of dog sh1t on the footpaths on the way to the start. Note to dog owners of Dungarvan "clean up after your dogs"

Massive PB for me too...down to 63 mins (from 68 mins on St.Stephens Day, so it's now scientifically proven that turkey slows you down).

Also set an unofficial 10k PB of 39:40 (almost 30 secs improvement)
re: Brian: I thought the guy calling out the 10k times was actually a little over the 10k but doesn't matter too much either way I guess.

Genuinely thought I could never run that fast...great confidence boost ahead of London and has me wondering if a sub-60 is possible.

Absolutely fantastic organisation and would echo everything other posters have highlighted.

Was almost going to go up to John Treacy afterwards for a photo but seemed fairly swamped so left him alone

Great race but that oil spill was deadly very slippy
congrats to all fantasic day

Great day but I agree with Mags;. That oil spill was pretty scary to run on. Due to its size, I don't know if anything could have been done about it on the day, other than to give the runners fair warning. Which didn't happen.

To be fair, I drove the course around 12.25 and there was no oil spill on the road. Must have just happened. Hard to see what could have been done in 30mins! Obviously I will still use it as an excuse to say i could have gone a few secs quicker if the road was less slippy and sans oil!! :-)

Oil spill in the lap of the gods-the race organisers drove the course at 12.45 for last minute check and there was no oil on the road.what can you do.

Had slippy runners on the oil spill did not stop me. However trying to wash it off back of my legs different story!! Brill race . Very fast course and chocolate biscuit cake.....i'll say no more.

Oil spots...washing up liquid and cotton wool I'm told works wonders! ;o)

Enjoyable race.Love running a race whereby you get a small bottle instead of cups allowing you to carry it for a while. Credit to the majority of runners who left the used bottles by the side of the road as recommended for ease of collection. Noted on at least 5 occasions, however, where runners launched the bottles over hedges into fields or into the river between 6.5 and 8 miles....these'll never be found let alone collected and therefore just add to the pollution.I understand now why some races organisers as a rule don't provide these handy bottles.

i have to say thanks to the 70 minute pacers brillant lads i never noticed the oil untill finished i was like a spotted zebra great day packie westlimerick

What a fantastic race. Lovely course, good stewarding, easy parking and delicious choccie cake afterwards. Heres a controversial comment - best 10miler in munster!

The bar has been set really high for other races to live up to this.Have to agree with other comments, what a superb event. I did hear stewards telling runners to keep right out of the oil spill to be fair to them. Baby oil and cotton wool will get rid of the oil, super fast with results also.Mike

Fantastic day again in Dungarvan. Organisation is second to none I believe. Well done to all involved.

Brill race. Very well organised from start to finish! From entry to stewarding, to refreshments afterwards. Tend to agree with the "controversial comment" - best 10miler in munster! :) Tracey - Dooneen A.C.

Yet another amazing event organised by West Waterford AC. They set the standard for all other clubs in the country to follow. Pacers were fabulous this year. Lots of PBs yesterday as a result. Roll on 2013!

i ran a brutal race - my fault tho!!! no fault of what was a v well organised race for what was only 15 quid!!! didn't notice any oil spill myself. great value and puts those rip off half marathons and other races to shame. will be back next year

What a fantastic race. The organisation was outstanding. I also ran a brutal race but as the last poster said I have to look close to home for the reason. The brain said avoid the pacers and the body tried to beat them.!!! Oil spill was unfortunate but what can you do. For €15 it was exceptional value.Well done to all involved

Great race overall, couldn't believe there were people calling out times at every mile and one even at 10k. Wasn't even expecting a goodybag let alone a t-shirt for the price of the entry. Well done to WWAC

brilliant race, great fun and brilliant organisers- the best and most hospitable i've met.

the 15 euro entry fee highlights how ridiculous some of the commercial races fees are!

great nike dri-fit top, all you can eat food, very organised well marked race and even free photos being given out from 2011 race!!

well done to all at ww ac,great race,
great course even great running conditions(if you like a bit of rain).
Only thing the 75min pacers started
too slow more 8:20 pace leaving me too much to do at the end.
Still really enjoyed it and I will be back to run in the best "10 miler
in Munster"
