International Selection for Lucy Holmes
 
 
 
 
Congratulations to Lucy Holmes who has been selected for the Irish team to compete in the inaugural Nations Cup. The event will be held in Santry Stadium Dublin on Saturday August 3rd . This new event will replace the Celtic International but the standard of competition is the Nations Cup will but much higher as England will field a strong team in this event.  Jamica have withdrawn from the event so the first year of the competition will be a duel match Ireland v England. As a result of her strong showing in the national championships where she won both the 800m and 1500m Lucy was selected for the 800m which will take place at 2.20 on Saturday August 3rd. All in West Waterford wish Lucy the best of luck. 
 
 
 
Competitions Continue for Aislinn O’Regan
 
 
 
 
Aislinn O’Regan was in action at the Jamie Boyle Memorial Games in Templemore last Saturday. Aislinn competed first in the shot where she threw 5m 62. Despite feeling unwell during the competition Aislinn was determined to compete in the discus where she threw close to her personal best with a throw 14m85.Aislinn has three more competitions left this year. In August she will compete in the South East Games in the RSC this will be followed by the Munster Championships in Cork and the final competition of the season in Tullamore at the end of September.
