Good Turnout at Training on Wed and Friday
 
 
 
 
 
There was a very good number of athletes back in training on Wednesday and  on Friday but there are still a few more who have not made it back yet as they are still involved in hurling and football matches we look forward to seeing them in action this week as the county championships are only a couple of weeks away. We were delighted to see a large group of new athletes starting on Friday last. 
 
 
 
 
 
Munster Discus Title for Aislinn O’Regan
 
 
 
 
 
Aislinn O’Regan competed in the shot and discus at the IWA Munster Championships in Cork last weekend. Aislinn continues to work on perfecting her turn in the discus and all her throws were close to the 15m mark. She won the discus title with a throw of 14m90. In the shot Aislinn threw 5m51 in the shot to finish 3rd. Aislinn has one more competition left this year the Throws Fest which will be held in Tullamore on Sat 28th Sept.
 
 
 
 
JB WHITE Schools Cross on Friday 20th  September @ 6.30pm
 
 
 
 
All schools have been notified this week of the upcoming cross country which will be held in St. Augustine’s College and will start at 6.30 pm sharp. This year the event will again be sponsored by John White of JB White Chartered Accountants. Registration will be open from 5.30
 
 
Races will be for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th 6th class as well as 1st and 2nd year boys and girls.  
A school may be represented by as many athletes as they wish.  
 
 
 
Distances; 2nd class boys and girls   -     500m
                  3rd class boys and girls   -     500m
                  4th class boys and girls    -    600m
                  5th class boys and girls  -    800m
                  6th class boys and girls    -    1000m
                  1st/2nd year boys and girls  -  2000m
 
 
 
Trophies will be presented to the first 6 individuals and medals for the first three teams of three from the same school in each race.  
Entry fee is €2.00 per athlete payable on the night
The programme should be complete in one hour approx
 
 
 
County Board AGM
 
 
 
The county board AGM was held on Monday last in Carriganore. West Waterford’s John McGrath was again elected Chairman. The county board have a facebook page and by following it you can keep up to date on all events.

Sunday Sept 29th County Championships under 8,10,12,14,16,18. 
 
Sunday Oct 6th  County Championships under 9,11,13,15,17,19.
 
Sunday Oct 13th County B Championships under 9,11,13,15
 
All three county fixtures will take place in St Augustine’s College starting at 11am
 
Sunday Oct 20th Munster under 10,12,14,16,18. Limerick Racecourse
