Colligan Cup on Sunday Next
On Sunday next January 28th in conjunction with the senior club we will host the Colligan Cup at Colligan Wood.  This is an open event and anyone can take part.  The course is one circuit of Colligan and just like the senior event you guess your time and the person who runs closest to their time but not faster is the winner. Last year the event was won by Lughaidh O’ Mahony in a very close finish as you all seem to be getting better at judging your times.  So who is it to be this year? Registration starts at 12.15 and the race will get under way at 1.00sharp so come early and make sure you warm up before you run. We look fore to seeing all our juvenile athletes and some newcomers at this event.

Munster Award for Siobhan Brackett
Siobhan Brackett a young talented pole-vaulter who competes with West Waterford and St. Augustines College will be honoured at the Munster Sports Star Awards in Limerick early next month. Siobhan will receive an achievement award in recognition of the great season she has had in her chosen event.  On the schools front Siobhan won gold at East Munster, Munster and All Ireland level clearing 2m70 in the latter competition.  In club competitions she won a county and Munster title, setting a new Munster record of 2m 50 in the process.  She went on to finish second in the All Ireland and was selected to represent Ireland at the Celtic International, which was held in Waterford. For her competitive results and in particular her Munster record Siobhan has been selected by the Munster Council to receive the Achievement Award.  Well done Siobhan and we hope you have a great night in Limerick.
