West Waterford Athletic Club was founded in 1994 when the Senior Sections of the Athletic Clubs of Dungarvan, Ring / Old Parish and Cappoquin / Ballinameela united to form one Senior Club. Dungarvan and Ring / Old Parish continued as Juvenile feeder clubs until 2002 when they too joined with WWAC to form one club that now caters for both Juvenile and Senior members. In the years since our formation West Waterford A.C. has gone on to become one of the premier athletic clubs in Ireland.

Club members of all ages and abilities compete across the entire range of athletic events including track and field, road racing, cross-country, ultra distance and mountain running.
